Last week, I was fortunate enough to take a little day trip into the city. Although it was much too short lived for me to truly enjoy, I always find New York to be the most inspiring city I've ever visited. As soon as I approach the Hudson River and have a view of the Manhattan skyline, my heart always skips a beat. I always seem to revert back to my days as a little girl, when I dreamt that someday I would live in one of the historic buildings I can never get enough of. As it turns out, my place of residence doesn't even remotely resemble my favorite city, but luckily I'm just a hop, skip and a jump away (or approximately 150 miles, anyway).
While I was mainly in the city for a little business, of course I believe that it's important to balance out my day with a little bit of fun. I had a few extra hours to kill, so I decided that a visit to my favorite museum was in order. MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art), has always been my favorite museum for quite a few reasons. They have a seriously awesome collection of modern and contemporary art that includes paintings, drawings, sculpture, print, architecture and design, film, video and so much more. MoMA also features a large selection of Exhibitions at any given time. I was pretty stoked that I got to catch quite a few really cool Exhibitions while I was there, including a rad music exhibition, Picasso works, a plywood exhibit, the Guerrilla Girls (a completely awesome feminist collection of prints), and multiple design exhibitions.
I took a few pictures of my time to share with you, of course. And although I wished I didn't have to leave, I came back to our lovely little town with fresh design concepts inspired by my trip and a reignited flame for dear old New York. May we meet again soon...
